Black Caribbean pupils have higher suspension rates than the national average.
Exclusion rates are strongly linked to disadvantage, with children from disadvantaged backgrounds being more likely to be excluded after other factors are controlled for.
Education: inequalities and attainment gaps
The permanent exclusion rate is higher for pupils with SEN, particularly those with SEN support, compared to those without.
Behavioral and mental health issues
Excluded students are more likely to have behavioral difficulties, peer problems, and attention issues.

July to Sept 2024, the number of young people (16-24 years) (NEET) was an estimated 946,000.
Vulnerability: Black Caribbean and Mixed White and Black Caribbean children are more likely to be permanently excluded compared to White British children
